Padang and Matrilineality :) :)

So, I want to tell you story about one of races in Indonesia that located in Minangkabau, West Sumatera. I want to introduce more about indonesia.

Padang is the capital city from West Sumatera. Its located in West Indonesia (near from Medan and Aceh). They have unique and different cultures and customs from other city in Indonesia. Their cultures and customs system is about MATRILINEALITY.

Matrilineality is a system in which lineage is traced through the mother and maternal ancestors. Matrilineality also is a societal system in which one belongs to one's matriline or mother's lineage, which can involve the inheritance of property and/or titles.

A matriline is a line of descent from a female ancestor to a descendant (of either sex) in which the individuals in all intervening generations are mothers. In a matrilineal descent system an individual is considered to belong to the same descent group as her or his mother. This matrilineal descent pattern is in contrast to the more common modern pattern of patrilineal descent from which a Family name is usually derived

So we can get the conclusion, matrilineality is descendant system traced from mother. The unique one is when couples get married at Padang, a woman have to come to man's house and pick him up. She have to give the engagements packet (it can be money or things).

If the man have high social status, the price/engagements packet must be in high price too. I know maybe its a little bit weird and unusual but that's we called about culture and customs :)

Indonesia is have many beautiful island and 33 provinces, we have many multicultural and diverse races as well.. Matrilineal and padang is just small pieces in Indonesia's tradition.

So how about your country?
Do you know your culture??

Cheers ! :) :)
Ps : thanks to definition matrilineal from wikipedia ♥

Souad as main character get humiliated from her family because she is get pregnance before married. Her family burning her into the fire alive. This story is about how unfair the culture in her society and how she can survive and became strong like now?

3. Sitta Karina's Masterpiece

*Its local novels from Indonesia's author. I love her works, the way she told the story. She can give the message in her book that even though we are love shopping the branded things, go abroad but we must live and proud as indonesian. She told me to respect the relationships between human beings and the true love is when a man love you just the way you are :) :)

De-Motivate

Sometimes i feel demotivate to finish my thesis quickly.
i dedicated this articles to every person who always feel demotivated

Based on : www.leadershipfreak.wordpress.com by Dan Rockwell

Young leaders frequently ask me to explain motivation techniques because they work with unmotivated employees or volunteers. We discuss carrots (rewards) and sticks (punishments) as motivational tools. In addition, we discuss the power of progress and advancement opportunities as motivational techniques. However, I’m taking a different path today. Let’s take a stroll down the dark side of motivation by exploring de-motivators.

Actions without why’s de-motivate
. Humans need higher purpose. For example, higher purpose motivates parents to work long hours in order to provide for their children. Without purpose long hours are meaningless. Furthermore, employees who don’t understand the greater significance of their job lose passion.

Distrust de-motivates
. I’ve heard people complain they were promised an opportunity that never materialized. Or, consider this complaint “The boss took credit for my work.” Unethical leaders quickly let the steam out of motivated employees.

Moving targets de-motivate
. Employees working to achieve performance objectives that unexpectedly shift may feel their motivational fire cooling.

Ambiguous or unattainable goals de-motivate
. It’s true that setting goals that are just out of reach can fan an employee’s enthusiasm. But if you set the goal too far out of reach they’ll give up.

Favoritism de-motivates
. This ugly problem can emerge in any situation. However, employees who are promoted to positions where they manage teams that include personal friends may experience the negative impact of perceived favoritism.

Under appreciation de-motivates
. Employees who don’t feel understood and appreciated for their efforts gradually lose fervor.

One-way communication de-motivates
. Receiving messages from on high without participation in the process makes people feel they don’t matter. When we don’t matter our performance doesn’t matter either.

It’s too easy to de-motivate people. One powerful motivation technique is eliminating de-motivators.

*****

What de-motivators can you add to this list? Have you experienced de-motivation?
